ASPCA Presents: Behavior-focused pathway planning and outcome decision-making are challenges faced by every animal shelter. Without tools to guide those processes, it can be overwhelming to address challenges on a case-by-case basis for every dog and cat admitted to your shelter. Dr. Miranda K. Workman, from the ASPCA’s Behavioral Sciences team, will introduce a group of behavior pathway resources developed to guide pathway planning and outcome decisions with your shelter’s behavioral capacity for care in mind.

HumaneVMA Presents: Separation-related disorder (SRD) remains one of the most common behavioral problem in the canine population, affecting up to 40% of canine patients in veterinary behavior specialty practices. They can be taxing to the human-animal bond by restricting the guardian’s ability to leave the home without their dog. This webinar will give an update on terminology and most recent research on the different types of SRDs. It will also discuss different treatment options, including medications and behavior modification. 

NACA/Justice Clearinghouse Presents: Forty American states now specifically enable courts to include companion and/or farm animals in domestic violence protection-from-abuse orders. The movement to enable pet protection orders began in 2006 and has spread rapidly, but several states are still holding out. This webinar will examine the history of this movement, the unexpected opposition to what should be a common-sense solution to Link issues, and how well this legal mechanism is being utilized.
