Join a Group, Enter a Discussion, Make Connections, Share Photos and Files
GROUPS
Groups let you connect with members of our animal sheltering community based on your role at the shelter, the state you live in or special interests. When you joined you should have been added to the Group based on your shelter role (if not let us know). We recommend you also join the Group for your state to keep up on local events, issues and concerns.
Each group will have an “activity feed” that keeps you up to date with what’s going on in the group and shares general posts from members of the group.
Shelter Role and State Groups are private to members. So, the things you share are private to members of that group and will only show in the News Feed of people who are members. Other groups (like the “Just for Fun” category can be private or public, check settings to see which each one is.
Use your Groups to connect with others, share information in the group activity feed, share photos or files, whatever you’d like.
FORUMS
Forums are the place for discussions on specific topics within a group. They are the best place to have in-depth or ongoing discussions on specific topics as the Portal will keep track of them based on the subject. Forums connected to private groups are also private to group members. Public forums can be seen by all portal members.
MEMBERS
These are the people who have joined this animal sheltering community. See who is using the site, search by name, location, shelter or keywords. Make connections, follow people to see what they are up to on the site, or send a private message to someone.
CONNECTIONS
These are members you’ve made or accepted a connection with. This helps you create a smaller community within the bigger one.
NOTIFICATIONS
Check to see if you have any notifications. You’ll be notified here if a member mentions you, you receive a message or you need to be notified about other activity on the site.
MESSAGES
You’ll be notified if anyone has sent you a private message and be able to read and respond to it here.
BUDDYDRIVE
Share files within the platform with other community members.
PHOTOS
Upload photos and create albums to organize them here.
